Hi all,
A provisional date for the anniversary has been set. The day will encompass our families day and is set to happen on Saturday 7th June 2008. More details will be put on as and when they happen but so far the plan is to be able to fly guests in the Vigilants, a deal is currently being set up to fly in their Ventue and other conventional gliders and the same regarding pleasure flights in the Cosford Flying Clubs PA-28s. We are currently trying to find somewhere that could lend us an airwothy T21 Sedbergh. So if anyone out there has any contacts, please let us know. We are tying to get a marquee to go behind the hangar and their will most likely be a BBQ too no doubt!
So, if you are interested in coming please post below with any ideas or suggestions. We will need to get a rough number of people coming so we can inform the relative people
Regards,
Nick

Prices for the flying will be - Wrekin Gliding: 2000ft Aerotow £29 30 minutes in Venture £31 Cosford Flying club: £80 per hour for a PA28 (including instructor) The £80 is divisable by the hour if you dont want a whole 60 minutes.
These prices represent superb value for money. Thanks go to the Wrekin and CFC for providing such great value to our guests.
Should you wish to take up any or all of these offers, please post your requirements so that we can book ahead with the relevent parties and ensure averyone gets what they want.

Quick update for everyone. If you have not received an official invite to the celebrations. Don't worry, due to the huge amount of time the invitations are taking, we have decided to follow a much simpler route. All ex members are very welcome and will be warmly received, please arrive in the morning by 11am. During this time we will hope to have someone manning crash gate 2 for entry to the squadron. After 11am their will be no gate guard and late arriver's will have to rely on the telephone which is at the crash gate 2 entrance. Food will be laid on, if those partaking of sustenance could make a donation (we will leave it up to you how much) it would be gratefully received due to the costs involved. I very much look forward to meeting with people and hearing the stories of old. For interest - I have now confirmed that a Venture will be on the 633 flight line for the day. As previously stated this is kindly laid on by the Wrekin gliding club and anyone wishing to fly will have to pay the pilot directly. PA28's will also be available for site seeing trips with up to 3 passengers, again the fee for this is direct to the pilot. Vigilant flying will be available, however this will be limited due to various rules imposed by the RAF. First come first served rules will apply with this area of flying. Please be aware that the vigilant has a max seat weight of 103kg per passenger (and we will be checking ;D) In the interim, any question please send to me at chris@cmturner.co.uk
Best Regards and see you all next week Chris

Hello Folks. I am looking forward to renewing old acquaintances (the living ones of course) from my 10 years at 633gs, during the 60's; including SqdnLdr J Bullock. Does anyone have any contact details for Dave Judd & Alan Skitt, from the same era. I'm sure they would be interested.
I'll see yer' Saturday the 7th then. Bye.

Hello to One & All @ 633 vgs. I attended your 60th anniversary yesterday the 7th June. I would like to tender my gratitude to ALL the Staff @ 633 VGS for the welcome & hospitality shown to us, former 633 Staff Members during our visit on your special day. Thanks to CO. SqdnLdr John Bullock for allowing us to participate in the activities! such as making him a cuppa'T..clean cup..milk..no sugar. This was very much appreciated by Ex C/Is Clive Yates & Myself Bernard Hunt. ( I've got him in my log book as 'Air Exp.. First & Further Effects of controls'!!! Thanks Again.. Hi folks,
I think no one could disagree with the fact that it was a great day...even the predicted showers steered clear of us for a change!
Glad the visitors enjoyed themselves and thanks to the people that organised it and to Terry Moyse for bringing his motor glider along. Baggsy first trip next time!

Yes a great day and nice to meet some of the people that helped to make the squadron what it is today. Also a quick thankyou to the passing airbus that called up to wish us a happy birthday from flight level something high- you know who you are (Rob). Nice to talk to you again after so long. Big thanks to Gp Capt Allen for attending as our VIP guest, Sq Ldr Redman for bringing over the venture and Terry for his very interesting machine that several people had the chance to savour. Looking forward to the next anniversary now. Regards all,
Chris

Hi Chris, how the devil?!
Yeah it was good to talk to you (briefly!), but it wasn't an Airbus - perish the thought! I won't hold that against you though, I hear your eyesight is diminishing these days, certainly when reversing in car parks?!? I hope banter works via the internet, else I might just have over-stepped the mark!
How's the Eagle?
All the best everyone...

I should correct that last post - it was good to talk to you (albeit only briefly).
Dear me, haven't seen you all for ages and I'm already causing offence!!
