Greetings from Paul Beckett
Just reminiscing about my time at 633 VGS when I did the BGT residential course a decade ago. There were 6 of us, 3 ATC and 3 CCF.
It was really good fun and its good to see that many of the staff are still in place. Sqn Ldr Bullock himself taught me to fly and would always give me a good ticking off for landing the Vigilant tailwheel first saying "Beckett! This isn't an aircraft carrier!" ;D
Anyway we all got through to ghosted solo, and on the final morning got into the jnr ranks mess to find that radio 2 was reporting the loss of HRH the Princess of Wales. How ironic.
Anyway I have since gone on to work for QinetiQ Boscombe Down formerly (DERA) in Test and Evaluation and have got back into conventional gliding with the Wyvern Gliding Club at Upavon who share the base with 622 VGS.
Great website and thanks for a great course (All those years ago)
regards
PG Beckett
